Hours later, I was lying in Kaleb's hospital bed, my head resting lightly on his shoulder.
Once again, Dr. Cuse came in. "Bella, can I speak to you for a minute?"
"Sure." I replied slowly getting up off the bed and walking into the hallway with Dr. Cuse.
"How long?" I blurted as soon as we were out of Kaleb's hearing range.
"A few minutes." He stated. What?! Did he seriously just say a few minutes? I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. OUCH! yeah... deffinitely not dreaming. I took a deep breath.
"Okay." I then walked back into Kaleb's room.
"I only have minutes, right?" I nodded, and threw my arms around him, embracing him in a very tight hug. "Don't go." I whispered into his ear.
"I can't change it. I love you so much, Bella. You are the most beautiful woman I've ever layed eyes on. I promise you, I will look after you. I will be your guardian angel, watching over you at all times, protecting you from danger. I love you Bella. I don't want to leave you." Tears were silently pouring out of my eyes. I noticed a small tear escape Kaleb's beautiful hazel eye, and I wiped it away with my thumb.
"I love you too Kaleb. Thanks in advance for watching over me. I love you sooo much!" I was at a loss of words. All I could think of to say was , I love you.
"Make sure junior knows who his daddy is."
"Of course he'll know his daddy is. I'm too proud not to share it with him. He'll know your sexy face, I promise."
"Thanks. Oh, and Bell."
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry I have to leave you to be a single mother. I wish I could live to hold our adorable baby in my arms. But God has a better place for me... You know what they say, everyime God brings a person onto the Earth, he must take one."
"Why does it have to be you though?"
"I don't know, Bells. I don't know." He took a deep breath and stared into my eyes. "I'll meet you in heaven."
"I'll meet you in heaven." I confirmed, before bringin my lips to his in one last kiss. I know I've said many other kisses were amazing, but none beat this one. I felt like he was sharing all of the love inside of him with me.
Suddenly, he stopped kissing me. His lips started to feel cold. I pulled away ever so slowly and stared down at Kaleb's body.
He lay, looking so peaceful on the hospital bed, asleep forever.
A silent tear rolled down my cheek as I whispered, "I'll meet you in heaven, Kaleb."
